Cotgrave Leisure Centre is a community sports and fitness facility in Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire. As part of their commitment to sustainability, the centre recently installed a new low-carbon air source heat pump unit. However, concerns were raised about the potential noise impact on neighbouring properties. To address this, Leisure Energy reached out to JCW for a soundproofing solution.

What Was Needed

The newly installed air source heat pump unit generated noise that needed to be mitigated to prevent disturbance to local residents. Additionally, a new condenser unit required protection. To ensure effective sound control, we supplied and installed a 4.5m wide x 2.4m high SoundBarrier absorbent sound screen on the steel mezzanine. This barrier significantly reduced the transmission of noise from the heat pump.

Furthermore, we provided and installed a 1.3m x 1.9m “hit and miss” enclosure with a gate to house and protect the condenser unit, offering both acoustic and physical protection.
