Project Description
JCW Acoustic Fencing was commissioned by the Factotum Group to address a noise concern at an Amazon site in Southampton. Following the installation of a new air conditioning unit, neighbouring properties began to raise complaints regarding the excessive noise levels. To maintain good community relations and ensure compliance with local sound regulations, a fast and effective solution was needed.
What Was Needed
JCW provided the answer with JCW Absorbent Sound Screens utilised in the installation of an absorbent sound enclosure.
The Result
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the soundproofing, the team conducted an on-site test using a radio to simulate internal sound levels. Inside the newly installed absorbent enclosure, the decibel meter recorded an average of 77dB over 30 seconds. Just outside the structure, the sound level dropped significantly to an average of 65dB, highlighting the performance of the JCW Absorbent Sound Screen in real-world conditions.
The installation not only reduced noise pollution but also provided a durable, visually discreet solution that complements the setting.
