Project Description
Anwyl Homes is a reputable property developer known for its high-quality residential projects. A recent development at Victoria Mews, located in Holmes Chapel, faced significant noise pollution issues due to its proximity to a major roadway and a railway line. This situation necessitated the installation of a robust soundproofing solution to ensure a peaceful living environment for the residents.
What Was Needed
To address the noise concerns from both the road and railway line, it was essential to implement a soundproofing solution that would effectively mitigate noise while maintaining accessibility for maintenance and blending seamlessly with the development’s surroundings. The project required a sustainable and effective solution to significantly reduce noise levels without compromising the visual appeal of the area.
What We Did
JCW Acoustic Fencing was approached in September 2022 to develop a suitable solution. Following detailed discussions with the project’s acoustic consultant, it was decided to install a JCW Reflective Sound Screen between the housing development and the noise sources. The screen, covering an area of 250m at a height of 3m, was designed to provide maximum noise reduction while allowing for necessary access and maintenance. Steel posts were used to ensure stability, and special attention was given to the design to harmonise with the surrounding landscape.
The Result
The installation was completed over a five-week period from September to October 2022. The JCW Reflective Sound Screen effectively reduced the noise from both the roadway and railway line, significantly enhancing the living conditions for the residents of Victoria Mews. The sound screen not only provided a substantial reduction in noise levels but also integrated well with the development’s aesthetics, maintaining the area’s visual appeal. The successful implementation of this project demonstrated Amryl Homes’ dedication to creating tranquil and comfortable living spaces.
